We are delighted to announce that we have integrated our incident management and event control software with what3words, to enable precise location mapping of incidents.
what3words provides a way of describing location when other ways are not possible, such as when you are in a large crowd in an open space, with no obvious landmarks. The what3words team have mapped the whole planet into 3m x 3m squares, with each square given a unique address in the format ///pies.area.slate (the address of the WeTrack office in London).
This allows users of the Incidents module a precision around the logging of incident location that was not previously possible. When reports of an incident come in to the event control room, if the report includes a what3words address (the system is increasingly used by Blue Lights teams around the world), then the person logging the incident can just search for that 3 word address and pinpoint where exactly the incident is happening.
Josh Rayner, Events Partnerships at what3words, commented: "what3words is fast becoming a fundamental tool for events organisers all around the world; from festivals as large as Glastonbury, to community events. We are pleased WeTrack has adopted what3words as part of its event delivery software and that it works so seamlessly. It'll make it easier than ever before to log the precise locations of incidents, and pass to emergency services should they be needed."
We are very happy to have adopted what3words on our platform, with seamless integration and smooth UX.
