WeTrack was born out of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games by project and venue managers who wanted to improve the way we plan and deliver events. Our venue checks software was built to give you confidence in the safety, security and readiness of your site as you open or close doors to visitors. Here, we introduce it, explain its purpose, and set out what we hope for our clients to achieve with it. It was developed in conjunction with and is being used by Ascot Racecourse to manage their venue and has since been taken on by Premiership rugby club Northampton Saints at their stadium, Franklin's Gardens.

Simply, it allows you to automate your checks before opening and throughout the day; making these checks efficient, auditable, and able to be acted upon swiftly and consistently.

The basic principle is this: having complete oversight of your event or venue is a very tough task, but you need to be confident that as you open your gates, or close them again afterwards, your site is in the state it needs to be. We built this module to give you greater visibility, communication and accountability throughout your operations.

So how does it work in practice? For a full answer here, we'll direct you to our support centre, where we have outlined the workflow for using the venue checks module. But in brief, this is the basic process. You do all the setup beforehand; detailing out your checkpoints and the checks that need to happen, and grouping them into checklists. Then, when you are preparing for a particular day, you send out these checklists to individuals. Those individuals carry out the checks on location, with results fed instantly back to event control, who resolve or respond to any checks that require attention. Once all of the checks have been carried out and you're happy that the results are satisfactory with no significant failures outstanding, then your site is good to go!
